Welcome to the Z.R.W.A.F. website. Historically the Charity was set up as R.W.A.F. but the name has recently been changed to reflect the changing circumstances of our times.

The Charity is managed by 8 Trustees, who meet quarterly to discuss Z.R.W.A.F business and consider applications for assistance. There are no paid staff. The Charity is a non racial, non political, non discriminatory organisation and abides by the current
Q. How does the Charity help?
A. Generally by paying one off grants for assistance to a service provider on behalf of an applicant.
Q. How can you apply for assistance?
A. By fully completing the application form which is available from this site and sending it to the Administrator with proof of your former residence in
Q. What assistance am I likely to be given?
A. Grants for assistance are limited in amount and are usually one off. The Charity is unlikely to assist in the event of a second application.
Q. Are there circumstances where the Charity will not provide assistance?
A. Grants are means tested and The Charity does not give loans and does not provide assistance for the following:
Debts.
Business Expenditure
House repairs
Motor Vehicles and expenses
Legal Expenses
Education.
Foreign Travel
Medical Expenses
Expenditure which is the responsibility of the State
Z.R.W.A.F. raises money to help former Zimbabweans by various means:-
The 1000 Club Lottery. Membership costs £12 a year for 12 monthly entries in the draw. 50% of the subscription goes to the Fund and the remaining 50% is paid out monthly in 3 prizes. Currently the first prize is just over £100 but it does fluctuate depending on how many members there are in each draw.
A Dinner Dance and Grand Prize Draw are held in November each year.
Rhodesians Worldwide Social Organisations regularly give donations from their profits from Branch activities.
Supporters make regular donations to the Fund under the Gift Aid scheme allowing the Fund to reclaim tax paid.
Many supporters make occasional donations to the Fund.
We have received one legacy and supporters are encouraged to remember Z.R.W.A.F in their wills.
Over the past 5 years the Fund has paid more than £100,000 in Assistance to a variety of applicants. Some of the reasons for assistance paid are :- riser recliner chairs, installation of stair lifts, contribution to a specialised wheel chair, 1 months rent and deposit for new arrivals, start up furniture, etc.
